Helping Rural Nonprofit Leaders Secure Funding Without Burning Out

I help rural nonprofits and community organizations find the right funding. I build sustainable systems and lead with clarity. This is achievable even with limited time, staff, and resources.

If You’re Carrying a Lot, You’re Not Alone

Rural nonprofit leaders are often responsible for everything.

Grants, fundraising, volunteers, programs, and outcomes, without the support or capacity larger organizations have.

Funding feels uncertain.
The work never really stops.
And too often, the weight falls on one person.

You shouldn’t have to exhaust yourself to make an impact in your community.

Why This Work Is Personal

In 2016, my life changed when my son was born with a complex congenital heart defect.

Overnight, I was navigating medical decisions, uncertainty, and advocacy, while still balancing work, family, and leadership responsibilities.

That season showed me something deeper than a medical journey.

It revealed how often people are asked to carry overwhelming responsibility with limited support.

Having strong systems is critically important.

It’s essential to have clear leadership and community care.

In response, I founded The Heart of MFB, a nonprofit created to support families affected by congenital heart defects.

Building that organization from the ground up gave me firsthand experience with what many nonprofit leaders face every day:

  • Securing funding
  • Recruiting and supporting volunteers
  • Building structure
  • Leading through seasons of uncertainty

That lived experience continues to shape how I teach, consult, and support other leaders today.

Since then, I’ve worked across various sectors.

These include faith-based organizations, agriculture, education, healthcare, and community development.

I help organizations strengthen their impact with practical and realistic approaches.

I focus on clarity first. Then I focus on systems. This ensures that progress doesn’t come at the expense of the people doing the work.

I bring together:

  • Grant strategy and writing
  • Fundraising planning
  • Volunteer and leadership development
  • Practical use of tools like AI to make work more efficient and sustainable

If you’re carrying important work and looking for clarity, support, or a better way onward, I’d love to talk.
